We can’t ignore the fourth finger notes! I have noticed that one of the methods I have used only has one page dedicated to the fourth finger. One page? In an entire book? I like to strengthen up little fingers a bit more than that, thankyou!
These flash cards make that an easy job. It can be a 1 minute drill for your student to see how many fourth finger flash cards they can get through. Assign this as an exercise at home. There is a peg exercise I assign my piano students to do, and am about to get my beginner violin students to do as well, but I’ll save that for another post.

Thank you so much for making this website! It’s really helpful. I was looking online for note flashcards appropriate for beginning violin students. I do have a question: what do you do with the violin picture cards in the fourth finger match-up game? I understand the ones with the notes printed on them, but not the picture cards. Does one place a dot on the fingerboard where the fourth finger note is or write the letter name of the note in the space? Are these pictures the back of the card?

Yes, the violin picture cards are the back of the flash cards. My younger students are so very clever, that they like to try to see through the cards if we are playing a game of Snap or Concentration/Memory, and cheat! (LOL) I put the backs there as an option to print if teachers wanted them to prevent well intentioned cheaters. ;D
