My open string flash cards were such a huge hit with my beginner students, so I am slowly plowing my way through doing the other ones.
Here are my First Finger Notes Flash Cards. You can use them in the following ways:-
- As Memory/Concentration
- Play snap with them
- Print out two copies and lay one set note side up. Put the other ones in a pile. Your student has to turn over a card, tell you what the note is and put it on top of the matching note in front of them.
- Have your student line them up in any order on the music stand (a mini composition!) and see if they can play it.
- Team these cards up with the Open Strings Flashcards for a big revision game or a good composition game.
I will post up a complete set of all the flash cards so that the backs will all look the same. I also like giving a set of these flash cards to my students for homework. It works best when they have brilliant Mums (or Dads) who go through the flash cards with them.
