One clever mother of a couple of my students suggested a Connect 4 game using some of the resources I already had. It was such a great idea, I decided to post it here.
To play you will need:
- A Skittle Gameboard
- Set of flashcards
- ‘letter name cards’ from the skittle gamecards
- skittles/smarties/gummy bears etc
- 2 to 4 players
How to play:
Each student turns over a flash card (one by one in a clockwise direction) and places a lolly on the appropriate place on the Gameboard. The aim is to connect 4 notes in a row. The student who does so gets to eat those lollies. Can connect 4 on one string, across the strings ie all 4 first finger notes, or 1st finger on the G string, 2nd finger on the D string, 3rd finger on the A string, and 4th finger on the E string.
The Gameboard can be found here: Violin Skittle Gameboard
