Another student with a sore RH – piano song for the LH

Yup, another poor student of mine has injured their right hand.  A very clever student, but a beginner, so I couldn’t use the LH songs I had composed previously.  This called for a new one.

So here it is!  My Right Hand

It is a beginner piano piece with some legato and staccato, and cluster chords (they can use a relaxed flat hand to play all 5 fingers of the chord, or they can be clever little composers and play their notes of choice).  I forgot to write in that the last note would be really great with a 3rd finger (rather than a little finger 5), but that’s just me.

I had a fight with the computer over the legato phrasing for bar 5, so I lost and just wrote in ‘legato’ instead.  I figured it is a great way of showing the same thing written two different ways. *sighs* I really dislike my drama queen computer at the moment! ;D

I haven’t tested the song yet, it was done in 10 mins (seriously!) so please let me know if you see any errors.

  1. Love it! My daughter has been complaining of a sore right shoulder for a few days now, and it’s limiting what we can do. This is perfect for what she’s working on right now!
