Another book I purchased on a whim during the most recent Hal Leonard sale was ‘Garden Treasures’ – Five Pieces for Piano Solo by Carol Klose.
My favourite out of them is ‘Dandelion Wishes’. It is a gently flowing piece, easy to tell the story (as are all of them) however the book is a late intermediate level. Lots of hand crossing over and pedaling.
I was playing through the book and the imagery of gardens with beautiful flowers and tranquil settings is evident throughout these pieces. They are:-
- Daffodil Caprice
- Dandelion Wishes
- The Healing Garden
- Jasmine in the Mist
- Water Lily Garden
I think it’s one that some of my girls would love to play, perhaps too gentle for the boys unless you have some male students who love those gentle, flowing pieces.
